There are two major killers in Sri Lanka at present. These are diabetes and heart disease. Both can cause major disability and can be traumatising and disrupting to families. In addition diabetic retinopathy is a significant cause of blindness in Sri Lanka. All these are preventable and we would like to explore the possibility of setting up a project titled “Prevention of Heart Disease, Diabetes and their consequences” in Sri Lanka. A feasibility study is underway and a plan will be drawn soon by two experts in this field. We would like to hear from those who are interested in supporting and fund raising for this project.
